Song for this week: Free Your Love
This song was written on the Appalachian dulcimer. My parents bought 160 acres of mountainside in the Kootenays in 1974. They parcelled it into 20 acre plots to share with others.
One family did not have enough money to pay the full sum, so they made up the difference by gifting us with this handmade dulcimer. It has such an evocative sound. I love playing it! Listen to Free Your Love here.
Did you know that I am writing a book?
Yes! I am so blessed and fortunate to be working with a very talented editor here in British Columbia. It is a memoir about growing up back to the land, a child of war resisters and parents who wanted to raise their children in nature. I am enjoying the process and I look forward to sharing more with you over time.
Also still writing lots of music and currently looking for a songwriter duo partner.
On the practical side, I am starting from scratch, piecing my life back together. My dream is to tour with a show that I love playing and to offer a retreat or workshop in tandem. But first a solid home base is in order.
Thanks for holding the vision with me. Your company on my path means a lot!
What dreams are you incubating for the new year? I’d love to hear from you and I hope you enjoy the song this week!
Much love and another song soon,
Zoey
Free Your Love
Would I find – what I’ve been looking for?
Maybe someday – I will run free
An ocean of love – will be released.
If I opened my voice
If I opened my eyes
Maybe someday – I will run free
Maybe someway
An ocean of love will be released.
Open your eyes,
I will open my arms to you.
Open your eyes,
Can’t you see that my heart is open?
Free your love and I will
Free my love. (2x)
Free your love – for me.
